In the ancient world, carrot was reputed for its warming qualities. In Greek, daucus means ‘I transmit heat’. Carrot macerated oil prepares the skin for sun exposure and the amber-colored carrot essential oil is obtained by distilling the seeds. It smells of hay, resin and lemon. It is used to scent all sorts of preparations.
